Our Lady of the Lake School‘s seventh and eighth grade students recently got the opportunity to sit down with local entrepreneurs Michael and Ariane Duarte, owners of Ariane Kitchen & Bar. In addition to creating a wonderful lunch menu, Michael and Ariane spoke to the students about business tools, tips, and the lessons and errors to be learned from owning a business. Both have been a consistent support of OLL’s entrepreneurship learning program, TREP$.
TREP$ is a customized six-week program that teaches students how to plan, research and develop their own products or services. Twenty-two students in both the seventh and eighth grades make up this year’s TREP$ class.
This Friday, May 12, the OLL TREP$ students will display and sell their products and services during OLL’s third annual TREP$ Marketplace. Attendees will have an opportunity to purchase baked goods, jewelry, art, and a host of other items just in time for Mother’s Day. The event is free and open to the public. The entire community is invited to come and see what happens when you give children the creative outlet and responsibility that comes with starting a business venture.
The TREP$ Marketplace will be held at Our Lady of the Lake School, which is located at 26 Lakeside Avenue, from 3 to 7 p.m.
